PAPST, a supplier of AC and DC fans for electronic cooling, is continuing to expand to its mini-fan range. With the 400J series of 40 x 40 x 25 mm, an excellent small solution for cooling in small spaces is achieved. The latest mini-class generation is used to ensure that device lifetimes do not fall in hot areas, and where minimum power consumption by the fan and maximum exploitation of space are of the utmost importance.
Development included a doubling of air power in comparison with axial fans of the same size. The 400J series achieves a volume flow of freely blown out air of 25 m3/h. It is also very pressure stable - the maximum pressure rise is 250 Pa. Such performance in a small physical size means a very high rotational speed of up to 13 000 rpm. In order to achieve this efficiency at such high rotational speeds, ie, an accurate throughflow through the fan without causing flow separation or the formation of vortices at the rotor and scoops, papst involved the entire development expertise of its aerodynamic and drive departments. The result is a fan with superior air power/pressure characteristics and low operating noise.
As is usual for all DC fans, it is also equipped with a maintenance-free drive with electronic communication for maximum lifetimes and operating reliability. The PAPST Sintec compact bearing system achieves a lifetime of at least 60 000 hours. It is designed for a variety of operating voltages and can also be supplied with a tachosignal for external monitoring of the rate of rotation. The fan motor is provided with an electronic anti-blocking and anti-overload system and is short-circuit protected. If desired, 400J series fans can also be supplied protected against dampness.
