Maxim's MAX1973 and MAX1974 are 1 A step-down regulators for network and telecoms. Each device operates at a constant 1,4 MHz switching frequency over the load range and minimises noise interference. They operate from a 2,6 to 5,5 V input and generate output voltages as low as 0,75 V (MAX1974) with 1% accuracy over load, line, and temperature variations. 1,4 MHz current-mode PWM operation reduces the size of external components, provides excellent transient response, and ensures operation outside the ADSL band. Both devices deliver 1 A output with small 4,7 µF input and output ceramic capacitors. The MAX1973's output can be shifted by ±5% (max) with voltage margining digital inputs to simplify board level production testing. The MAX1974 features a power-OK indicator that monitors output voltage. Both devices offered in small 10-pin microMAX packages.
