Unique auto-zero function for high-frequency measuring

9 October 2002 Test & Measurement

Narda Safety Test Solutions offers high-frequency measuring devices that feature a patented 'Auto-Zero' function for stable measurement results with no disruption of the measuring process. It offers these high-frequency measurement devices in the EMR and EMC ranges. The company says it is important to perform an auto-zero regularly, especially when measuring low field strengths, in order to eliminate various influences such as those caused by climatic fluctuations.

This automatic function makes it possible to carry out measurements without interruptions, and there is no need to shield the device from the electromagnetic fields present in the area. It also removes the need to leave the area being measured - which is often complicated and time-consuming - or place the device in a field-free room and protect the measuring probe using a zero-field chamber.

Additional features of the high-frequency measurement devices from Narda STS include automatic probe recognition and a comprehensive range of probes, extensive options for data storage and evaluation as well as remote control of the measurement unit. The devices are light, robust and easy to use and have been developed for use in the field or in workplaces with high radiation levels of up to 60 GHz. 'Shaped probes' are available for measurements in environments where a number of frequencies are present.

They have been designed for taking measurements in the areas of telecommunications, radio and TV, wireless communications installations as well as applications in industry, eg, around smelting and heating facilities.
