Tyco's K-S Power Relay series is a 40 A class that features high-current design, ie, very high switching at continuous currents, and a very low voltage drop. Typical applications are for glow-plug circuits, engine cooling fans, heating elements, and starter solenoid switches.
In an open design the K-S weighs around 19 g. Nominal voltage is 12 or 24 V while other voltages are available on request. Contact configuration is Form A and contact material AgNi0.15. Max. switching current is 300 A (on) and 70 A (off). Limiting continuous current at 23°C is 70 A and at 85°C is 50 A. Voltage drop (initial) at 10 A is 10 mV typ. Mechanical endurance (no load) is 106 operations.
Nominal power consumption of the unsuppressed coil is 2,25 W. It has terminals for direct assembly in printed circuit boards.
