Who writes your technical literature?

So, you have produced your pièce de résistance, the mother of all automatic widgets, with bells and whistles galore. Now what? Before you put it out into the marketplace, someone has to create a set of instructions for it to make sure your customers know how to use it. And just who is going to do that?
The obvious answer is the guy who designed it, since he knows exactly how it works. There are a couple of disadvantages to that. Firstly, your development staff are there to design, and should be working on your next 'great engineering miracle baby'. Secondly, it is all too easy for an expert on its design to either assume too much on behalf of the user, or go into too much detail on how it works. How many times have you read a set of instructions where either certain steps have been omitted, or it tells you in great detail how the unit works but not how to use it to do what you want?
The best person to write a user's manual is a user. Here Allegro can help. With the understanding of an engineer, but the viewpoint and perspective of a user, one gets the best of both worlds. Allegro is able to produce documentation for print and can also create CD catalogues.
