Litton Veam's FRBOF series of circular multichannel optical connectors have quarter turn bayonet coupling and use the same bodies and accessories of the company's reliable CIR series.
They are available in varied configurations for both cable and panel mount applications. This is a rugged, heavy duty connector family for use in hostile environments (external use, railways applications, etc). In addition to being rugged, waterproof and dustproof, the optical interface is easily cleanable in the field without disassembly.
The optical joint (PC type with 2,5 mm diameter metallic or ceramic ferrules) has rear insertable and removable terminals, with the female contact spring-loaded. Alignment is guaranteed via a metallic split sleeve. A large range of connector accessories for strain relief and protection of the optical cable are readily available.
