RS Components has introduced RS Pro ranges of plug-in and desktop power supplies including units that come with approvals for use in medical applications. Designed for use in medical equipment, the products have low leakage current <100 μA, 2 x MOPP input to output isolation, and are suitable for BF (body floating) applications.

All the new RS Pro power supplies offer universal input voltages and are double insulated, feature short circuit and overload protection, and offer low standby power consumption. Fully compliant with medical IEC60601-1 and ITE IEC90950-1 safety approvals, the single-output supplies are fitted with standard 2,1 x 5,5 x 11 mm DC output connectors.

The plug-in power supplies are available in voltage outputs of 5, 9, 12 and 24 V d.c., and a range of power ratings including 6, 18 and 24 W units. They are supplied with four interchangeable mains plug-heads for use in UK, Europe, USA, Japan and Australia.

The desktop power supply adaptor units features a standard C14 input socket. The single-output switch-mode supplies are available in various voltage output and power ratings, including 5 V/20 W, 12 V/30 W, 24 V/30 W, 12 V/63 W and 24 V/63 W.

The power supplies target diverse applications including single board computers, wireless communications, and peripherals, portable equipment such as tablets and smartphones, as well as telecoms and networking equipment.
