Thermoelectric sensors

7 September 2016 Test & Measurement

Specialising in the development and manufacturing of highly precise thermoelectric sensors utilising the Seebeck effect, greenTEG offers three main product lines: gSKIN, U-value KIT and gRAY. Typical customers are international companies and institutions including OEMs, researchers and universities, consultants and thermal insulation experts.

gSKIN heat flux sensors (HFS) allow dynamic measurement of the heat transferred through the surface to which the sensor is attached. This is important for applications where the control of heat emission and consumption plays the key role. It also allows the prediction of a possible temperature change by knowing the heat transfer rate inwards/outwards from the object of interest even before it can be actually measured with a thermometer.

Ideal for building insulation and HVAC applications, U-value KIT allows the direct measurement of thermal insulation quality of buildings and their elements. This can be used to improve energy efficiency as well as to

design and test new insulation products in accordance with ISO 9869. Potential customers include energy consultants/architects and university departments in building physics and environmental sciences, producers of building insulation, window producers, R&D departments of building companies, and the automotive industry (e.g. to measure the quality of vehicles’ insulation).

The gRAY series of fast, highly sensitive laser power detectors is especially tailored for integration into OEM systems and sources. The sensors cover a wide wavelength range from UV (200 nm) to mid-IR (15 μm) with power from 100 W down to 10 μW. Thanks to their short rise time of 300 ms, these sensors become very useful for precise dynamic control of laser output power as well as for laser beam positioning applications.
