Reliable cooling of all components is essential for compact, highly integrated electronics in the fields of IT, telecommunication and network technology, as well as in inverters for the automation of solar plants. High packing density requires a high airflow rate and a large increase in pressure in order to dissipate the heat. ebm-papst has now developed the 8300 N, a fan which is up to 8 dB(A) quieter than its predecessor.
This DC axial fan achieves an air flow rate of up to 130 m³/h and a back pressure of up to 280 pascal within dimensions as small as 80 x 80 x 32 mm. To do so, it only requires half the energy of its predecessor – depending on operating point and version – making it up to 112% more efficient in optimal operating conditions. This is thanks in part to its smaller and more efficient motor, which is available in 12, 24 or 48 Vdc versions. The mounting frame and hole pattern are compatible with the previous model, enabling the successor to be quickly and easily retrofitted.
The fan comes with VDE, UL and CSA certification. Speed signal, go/no-go alarm with speed limit and external/internal temperature signal are also available, as is PWM control input or analog input and moisture protection. The fans meet the requirements up to protection class IP68 (depending on the respective model) and can be adapted to be salt spray resistant.
