Tektronix has released a new tool designed to overcome measurement challenges faced by design engineers - a new high-speed arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) claimed to have world-class signal fidelity.
When trying to solve specific design challenges, the ability to simulate real-world signal conditions is paramount. The high-speed AWG710 arbitrary waveform generator delivers significant advancements in sample rate and record length, while providing industry-leading signal fidelity. This new instrument gives disk drive, data communication and semiconductor manufacturers an arbitrary waveform generator with the speed and clarity that is necessary to surmount technology barriers in the development of next-generation designs.
The AWG710 is used to replicate standard, marginal and erroneous mixed signal conditions that today's designers encounter. The instrument features a sampling rate of 4,0 GSa/s with 8 bit vertical resolution and comes standard with 16 MB of memory, which is expandable to 32 MB. It has one channel with complementary output and two variable level and delay markers. Its unique realtime sequencer allows an infinite string of test signals and conditions for continuous operation. In addition, the AWG710's graphical user interface and built-in custom waveform creation and editing tools make it easy to design new signals, playback recorded DSO and DPO events, or import mathematical formulas from third-party development tools.
