Position sensors for pro audio and lighting

24 February 2016 Passive Components

Bourns has expanded its professional audio and professional lighting portfolios with the release of two new products. Working closely with leading audio, lighting and staging equipment manufacturers, these latest solutions join the company’s newly-announced Pro Lighting component product line.

The Model ES14 rotary optical encoder is optimised for use as a jog shuttle in audio mixing or light mixing consoles and can also be used as a position sensor in motorised stage lights or motorised camera mounts. With an enhanced design for longer life and high-speed operation, the encoder combines a compact design fitted with ball bearings.

The Model PSM60 motorised slide potentiometer is designed for smaller, space-constrained mixers. This 60 mm slide potentiometer features a high-quality motor and touch sense lever, making it well-suited for professional audio mixing consoles, broadcast consoles and automated professional lighting consoles and controllers.

Available in 8, 16, 32 and 64 PPR resolutions, Model ES14 offers up to 100 million revolutions of cycle life for applications with long deployments and high reliability demands. Model PSM60 meets the performance specs of the previously released PSM01 in a smaller 60 mm package.
