Electrolytic capacitors – a key component for AC-DC switching power supplies – have shortcomings such as large internal losses, large deviation of electrostatic capacity, high leakage current and poor high/low temperature characteristics.
This can lead to poor reliability and short lifespan of power products in environments subjected to extreme temperatures.
To overcome these problems, Mornsun launched a new LN series of 3 W AC-DC converter without electrolytic capacitor. Meeting the standards of EMI Class B without external circuitry, and Level 4 surge immunity, the devices offer an input voltage range of 165 – 264 V a.c./ 233 – 370 V d.c. and an ultra-wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 70°C, over which no derating is required.
The LN series can be used in LED lighting, instruments and meters, communication and industrial control, and are ideal for mining and electrical power applications.
