Calex announced the introduction of the FXW series of isolated full bricks with 1 kW of output power and a 4:1 input range of 9 – 36 V and 18 - 75 V d.c. The units offer efficiencies up to 96,5%, critical for the thermal management of such a high-power-density converter.
Measuring 63,5 x 119,38 x 13,21 mm, they are ideal for applications such as 12 V battery, 24 V industrial, 28 V military and 48 V telecom. The output voltages available are 24 V and 28 V, and all models will operate normally down to a no-load condition.
FXW converters operate at a fixed frequency and follow conservative component de-rating guidelines. They have an input to output isolation voltage of 2250 V d.c. and all models feature sense and trim as well as on/off. Sensitive to battery applications, the off idle current is 3 mA.
The mean time before failure for the FXW is 5,4 million hours. All models are RoHS compliant and have a case operating temperature range of -40°C to 100°C. An extended temperature range version, the ‘-T’ option, is available with an operating temperature range of -55°C to 105°C including cold start at -55°C.
All models feature over-current protection, short circuit protection, over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection and are backed by Calex’s five year warranty.
