Goepel Electronic now provides faster 360° inspection of components and solder joints in the automatic optical inspection (AOI) systems of its BasicLine and AdvancedLine. Its new and improved software allows time savings as well as better fault detection.
Thanks to newly developed optimisation algorithms, a significant increase in speed has been achieved for the whole test procedure – time savings of up to 40% can be realised by using multiple angled-view inspections from different directions. This development is now available in all new machines, and as a software update for already installed systems.
The ‘Chameleon’ angled-view module offers a large field of view with excellent image quality at a viewing angle of 45°, while a rotation step of 1° allows evaluation of solder joints hidden by other components. Different types of lighting combined with intelligent test functions form the basis for maximum fault coverage and minimal conspicuousness.
