A new family of Qspeed 150 V diodes has been released by Power Integrations.
Claimed to be the fastest silicon diodes in the world, Qspeed LQA150 series devices also feature excellent softness for low EMI.
Based on the company’s Qspeed merged-PIN technology, the diodes have junction capacitance and reverse recovery charge respectively 60% and 40% lower than trench Schottky devices. These attributes facilitate high-frequency operation, so that small and inexpensive magnetic components may be used while maintaining maximum efficiency. The devices’ EMI performance means that the need for snubber capacitors is also reduced or even eliminated, further improving efficiency and reducing cost.
Available from 10 A to 40 A in common-cathode configuration, these new 150 V diodes target applications in DC-DC converters and output rectifiers for hard switching or soft switching. They are available in DPAK, D2PAK and TO-220 packages.
