Metric copper terminals and splices

25 February 2015 Interconnection

TE Connectivity’s new metric versions of its proven AMPOWER terminals and splices are now in stock at TTI.

The parts are specially designed to complement a wide variety of stranded, flexible metric cables and leads, and provide both excellent mechanical strength and maximum electrical performance. They suit power generation and distribution applications in rail, mass transit, power transmission, defence and industrial applications.

AMPOWER terminals and splices can be used on applications up to 35 kV and are constructed seamlessly in one piece from electrolytic tough pitch (ETP) copper to provide superior electrical performance and mechanical operation. They also feature electro tin plating for additional durability and corrosion resistance.

Other features include a closed barrel transition design for protection against moisture and contaminants. Chamfered connection ends allow the cable to be inserted easily. TE Connectivity’s compression crimping is a proven and reliable method that is mechanical and completely controllable, thus eliminating variables common to other crimping methods, such as melting temperatures, flux composition, entrapped gases or oxidation.
