Actum Electronics’ range of ESD flooring has been specially engineered to facilitate a uniform flow of static electricity directly to a ground point. The range includes static dissipative (SD), electrostatic conductive (EC) and conductive ROF floorings.
EC flooring is a hard-wearing, homogenous product that is typically used for electronic assembly and repair areas, and highly sensitive medical equipment, computer equipment, etc. It exhibits a resistance to earth in the range of 5 x 104 to 1 x 106 Ω.
SD flooring is a contact sheet or tile floor covering typically used for computer operator installations, hospital theatre/ CAT scan equipment, MRI units and telephone exchanges. Resistance to earth is in the range of 5 x 106 to 1 x 109 Ω.
Conductive flooring is generally used in explosive areas or in the manufacture of any explosive material, ammunition or highly sensitive chemicals, etc. Resistance to earth is below 5 x 104 Ω, i.e. fully conductive.
Actum Electronics’ ESD flooring offering includes flooring material, floor preparations, installation, testing and certification. Its products are ISO 140001 and ISO 9001:2000 certified, and comply with various IEC regulations. Clients making use of this offering include the likes of Grintek Ewation, Cell C, TUB and SAAB Grintek Defence.
