Soldering iron station

8 October 2014 Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services

Hakko has improved the technology powering its soldering irons to create the all new FX-888D. Compared to the former 936/937 models, heater output has been increased by 30%, rise time to 350°C is 20 seconds faster and tip temperature drop is reduced during continuous work.

With the excellent heat conductivity of its T18 series tip, the system exhibits fast thermal recovery, allowing soldering at a lower set temperature and reducing the thermal impact on components as well as tip oxidation that can shorten tip life.

The compact station body requires a space of only 100 (W) x 120 (D) mm. Points that come into contact with the floor are positioned as close to the outer edge of the body as possible to improve stability and make the station resistant to falling over. The station comes in a choice of blue and yellow, or silver.

With only two operating buttons (UP and ENTER) in the centre, operation is simple, and an iron holder the same colour as the soldering station is included.

Settings can be locked using a password to prevent them from being changed. It is also possible to restrict all settings changes or prevent users from switching to particular modes.

A preset mode feature is convenient when the set temperature needs to be changed to suit a particular work piece, component or tip shape; up to five preset temperatures can be registered.
