Electrolube has developed new odourless conformal coatings formulated with specialist solvents to ensure they are completely free from aromatic solvents such as xylene and toluene. The fast-cure acrylic and polyurethane coatings have been designed to protect electronic circuitry for optimum reliability and increased performance of devices.
Throughput is boosted thanks to rapid touch dry times: the modified polyurethane coating, PUCAF, is touch dry in less than 10 minutes and the transparent acrylic coating, AFA, is touch dry in less than 5 minutes.
Formulated to meet REACH, RoHS, UL, IPC and military standards, the new odourless coatings demonstrate excellent mechanical and dielectric properties across a wide operating temperature range and are highly resistant to mould growth and moisture. Once cured, they can be removed with Electrolube’s Conformal Coating Remover Gel (CCRG), a thixotropic gel that excludes the use of dichloromethane.
PUCAF and AFA also contain no isocyanates and can be soldered through without fear of highly toxic gases being produced. The coatings fluoresce under UV light for ease of inspection and are available in aerosol and bulk packaging for application by dipping, brushing or spraying.
