Free boundary scan workshops

19 February 2014 News

UK company XJTAG will be hosting a series of introductory and advanced workshops covering boundary scan technology in Midrand in May of this year, in partnership with local representative ASIC Design Services. Those interested can book their place by visiting the companies’ shared stand at this year’s National Electronics Week at the Gallagher Convention Centre on 11-12 March.

The hands-on introductory workshop provides a comprehensive overview to JTAG boundary scan and the IEEE 1149.x standard. The one-day sessions will take place on 19 and 21 May, and are of particular interest to engineers in design, development, test and production.

Attendees will learn how boundary scan can be used from start to finish, both to improve designs and reduce respins, as well as to enhance test coverage, fault diagnosis and production yields on complex BGA-populated circuits. XJTAG’s workshop leaders will also cover how to test non-JTAG devices using boundary scan.

An advanced workshop for those already familiar with boundary scan will also be held on 23 May to provide a more in-depth look at JTAG and its additional capabilities, including an exploration of XJTAG’s powerful XJEase programming language.
