Local industrial battery pack manufacturer, Just Batteries, has been awarded official distribution rights and partner status for Panasonic industrial devices. This follows a visit to Just Batteries’ Benoni premises by Panasonic officials in November last year to conduct a factory inspection and audit on the capabilities and suitability of the company to represent Panasonic industrial batteries in South Africa.
According to Just Batteries’ national sales manager, Gary Chapman, this was the final stage in what has been a long negotiation process. “We are pleased to inform our customers that we have now received our certificate from Panasonic and have been authorised to commence distribution of the Panasonic battery range immediately,” he said.
Panasonic is on the verge of celebrating the nine billionth battery cell to come off its production line in the past 10 years.
