Solid-state computer drive

18 September 2013 Computer/Embedded Technology

SanDisk has bolstered its solid state drive (SSD) lineup with the power-efficient X210. The SATA-based drive is aimed at IT decision makers looking to maximise data centre performance or enhance the responsiveness of PCs and notebooks.

The X210 SSD is optimised for businesses that prioritise fast, consistent access to data, such as search engine and cloud storage providers and streaming media companies. When used in micro- and entry-level servers in data centres, it offers highly responsive and sustainable performance in read-intensive environments, and notably reduces I/O bottlenecks.

Available in large quantities, the 2,5” drive easily integrates into desktops and notebooks, and enables rapid boot-up and improves data transfer speeds. It provides up to 512 GB of storage with up to 505 MB/sec sequential read and up to 470 MB/sec sequential write speeds.

The X210 SSD features automated power management, including DEVSLP capability, as well as a proprietary high-performance tiered system architecture, which includes nCache acceleration technology.
