Concurrent Technologies (CCT) offers starter kits for CompactPCI and VME, configured to provide engineers with a practical, high performance, high quality development environment. The preconfigured systems include high performance Intel Pentium III single board computers and a variety of peripherals suitable for the development environment.
"Our aim is to provide the latest technology in the shortest possible time in the hands of the engineers to fast track their development efforts," says Systematic Designs' MD Sean van der Walt. "There are three platforms to choose from: CompactPCI, VME and Multibus II. With the most popular platforms being CompactPCI and VME among our defence, commercial and telecommunications customers."
The CompactPCI starter kit includes a 19" rack-mount chassis, which adheres to European EMC standards, providing 8 CPCI slots, expandable to 16 slots by using CCT's unique bus expansion module, built-in hard drives, FDDs, CDROM, a quality power supply and built-in cooling system. Easy access to peripherals and backplanes is also provided by means of the rear I/O transition area, which allows 160 mm of I/O space.

The starter kits use standard hardware elements allowing easy progression from development to production systems. In addition to the starter kits, CCT's CPCI processor boards allow for hot-swap capability (PICMG 2.1 V1) and have support for Ethernet/Packet switched backplanes (PICMG 2.16). All the main operating systems: Linux, Windows NT/2000, QNX, LynxOS, VxWorks and Solaris are supported. A wide variety of options are available - see www.systematic.co.za.
