DEHNconnect SD2 series surge arresters from DEHN are designed as space-saving terminal blocks with a width of only 6 mm.
These terminal blocks with integrated surge protection have a modular disconnection function that allows them to interrupt the signal circuit for maintenance work.
An integrated module ejector disconnects the signal circuit from the terminal equipment. The disconnection module does not have to be removed, but remains in the module slot.
The two-pole surge arrestor is designed to protect signal interfaces of data and information technology systems, and thanks to its spring-loaded connection system, it provides fast and safe conductor connection. The arrestors are ideally suited for use in industrial environments at information technology signal interfaces of automation, measuring and control, as well as bus systems.
With a maximum impulse current carrying capability of up to 20 kA (8/20 μs), DEHNconnect SD2 is ideal for installation in conformance with the lightning protection zone concept at the boundaries from 0B to 2 and higher. Different types of arresters are available and protect two single lines sharing a common reference potential (DCO SD2 ME …) or an unearthed pair (DCO SD MD …). The ATEX and IECEx-approved arrestor of type DCO SD2 MD EX 24 can be used for intrinsically safe measuring circuits and bus systems.
The devices can be easily snapped onto a DIN rail and are automatically earthed via their supporting foot. Moreover, the equipotential bonding system can be connected to terminal equipment by means of the integrated earth terminal. For maintenance work on the installation, the signal circuit can be simply interrupted by removing the integrated plug-in module. Compact in design, DEHNconnect can be used wherever space is restricted.
