Gore-Shield supersoft SMT EMI gaskets are highly compressible, conductive and resilient EMI gaskets that are compatible with standard SMT (surface mount technology) processes. They offer high levels of EMI shielding and are reliable through severe ALT (accelerated life testing) conditions.
The gaskets are comprised of a silver-coated hollow silicone extrusion and a solderable silver-plated copper support layer, mechanically crimped together. Parts are soldered to the ground trace on a printed circuit board like any other SMT component.
Parts are packaged in EIA 481 standard tape-and-reel format, ready for installation using standard pick-and-place SMT equipment (chip shooter or fine placement machine).
