Following on from the success of its Hercules range of permanent through-hole-mount external antenna solutions, Taoglas has developed an even lower-profile and lower-cost series with the Ultima range.
This range of WiFi or cellular (2G/3G) screw-mount antennas is ideal for M2M applications such as kiosks, ATMs, vending machines, meters, or any application that requires a covert, permanently mounted external antenna.
The G24 Ultima series cellular antenna is a 2G/3G 800 MHz to 2200 MHz solution for professional telematics applications. Suitable for GSM/GPRS/CDMA applications worldwide, it measures just 19,6 mm in height with a diameter of 55 mm.
The antenna works well when mounted on either metallic or non-metallic objects; it does not require a metal ground plane to attach to in order to radiate.
It has a durable UV ABS housing, with a thread and nut that are resistant to vandalism and direct attack.
The IP67 waterproof plastic body makes the unit extremely light, economical for shipping and with a minimum weight impact on vehicles. This also makes it ideal for use in humid environments such as water pits or marine applications, as there are no metal parts to corrode.
The closed cell foam with double-sided adhesive provides a permanent waterproof seal and can adjust to different curvatures, stopping water from leaking under the antenna into the mounting hole. Low-loss PTFE cable is used for maximum gain and reduced noise entry through the cable.
Ultima comes with a wide thread and an indented nut design that allows tightening by hand. It also features a special peel-and-stick, double-sided waterproof adhesive foam for additional aid in helping to secure it to the mounting surface.
