Mean Well has introduced the GS05E-USB, a 5 W European plug wall-mounted type adaptor with USB outlet. With universal USB interface (Type-A) as the output connector, the device uses the standard 2-pin AC European type plug at the input side.

This new unit complies with current energy-saving regulations for adaptors and passed ErP step 2 required by the European Union. Possessing very low no-load power consumption (<0,3 W) in standby mode, it also has better conversion efficiency in comparison to linear power supplies, providing energy savings in both standby and active modes.

The GS05E-USB supports a 90–264 V a.c. input range with a single 5 V/1 A output. Enclosed in a UL 94V-0 rated plastic case, it can effectively prevent users from electrical shock and is a good choice for users requiring portability (measuring 41,54 x 30,5 x 20 mm) and high reliability.

The device incorporates protection against short circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature. It has received LPS (Limited Power Source) certification and complies with TUV/CE certificates. The GS05E-USB is suitable for all kinds of consumer electronics which can be charged through the USB interface.
