Mean Well has introduced the new AC/DC open-frame power supplies of the EPP-100/150 series for 100 W/150 W applications. Featuring PCB structure, these two series have very low no-load power consumption (below 0,5 W), and are designed to install directly into system chassis that do not need any enclosure.
The units exhibit efficiency up to 92,5% (EPP-100) and 93% (EPP-150) and can be cooled by free air convection from -30°C to +50°C ambient temperature with 75 W (EPP-100) and 100 W (EPP-150) output, or up to 100 W (EPP-100) and 150 W (EPP-150) by adding an external 20 CFM DC fan. They can even operate up to +70°C by employing suitable derating.
Standard functions include 12 V/ 0,3 A auxiliary output and protection against short circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature. The new power units comply with certificates per UL/CUL/TUV/CB/CE. Relevant applications include electrical or mechanical equipment, factory automation and any other usage that requires low no-load power consumption.
