Rugged COTS computer

19 September 2012 Computer/Embedded Technology

GE Intelligent Platforms’ CRS-C3I-3CB1 rugged COTS system is a packaged, pre-validated 2-slot control computer system fully integrated and ready to be deployed.

The system is available without non-recurring engineering costs and its integrated rugged computing platform lowers risk, thus making it well suited for applications requiring rock-solid reliability, such as civilian and military UAVs, manned commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, over- and under-water research vessels, ground vehicles and locomotives.

The CRS-C3I-3CB1 can be deployed in the field as soon as the application is ready, or can be used as a starting point for multiple application-specific configurations. It integrates GE boards and modules, drawn from GE’s wide selection of COTS boards, into an open modular system that is tested and qualified for rugged systems deployment.

For CRS-C3I-3CB1 systems containing 1553 or ARINC interfaces, GE also includes the Integrated Avionics Library, a full suite of C functions that can be used to perform many common card functions, thus reducing software development cycle time.
