RECOM’s new R-78E5.0-0.5 low-cost switching regulator meets all of the most commonly requested specifications and comes with a full three-year warranty.
The input voltage covers the 7 V to 28 V d.c. range which allows operation from both an industrial 24 V bus or from either a 9 V or 12 V battery.
The converter is fully protected against overload, short circuit and over-temperature conditions. Due to its high efficiency of up to 92% at an output voltage of 5 V/500 mA, no heatsink is required for operation over the full industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (+70°C without derating). The compact SIP3 package (TO-220 compatible) measures only 11,6 x 8,5 x 10,4 mm.
