Delivered in 0,8 x 1,2 mm chip scale packaging, the new MIC2782 from Micrel features dual pushbutton reset inputs and extended setup periods. Intended for safely generating hard system resets, the device generates a reset pulse for a reset timeout period of 0,5 s, 1 s or 2 s, after both pushbutton inputs have been held low for a selectable setup period of 6 s, 8 s, 10 s or 12 s. The IC also features a second output that immediately asserts if both pushbutton inputs have been asserted, and deactivates if one or both inputs are released. The MIC2782 provides 65 kΩ pull-up resistors on the pushbutton inputs. Designers can tie both pushbutton inputs together if they desire a single pushbutton input. The device operates over the 1,5 V to 5,5 V supply voltage range, consuming just 2,2 mA at 3,3 V.
