Texas Instruments’s TLK110 is a single-port 10/100 Ethernet physical layer (PHY) offering low deterministic transmit and receive latency to provide predictable and precise control for real-time applications. Its programmability and strapping options cover industrial Ethernet standards such as EtherCAT, Powerlink, ProfiNET and SERCOSIII. The IC provides error-free cable reach of 150 m and features multiple fast link-up configurations (force modes) to establish fast communication. Fast link loss detection time of less than 10 μs meets the needs of industrial Ethernet protocol standards. Cable diagnostics find faults with an accuracy of ± 1 m, easing cable repair and installation and allowing real-time monitoring of cable quality.
