The mikroProg from MikroElektronika is a well-priced programmer which programs almost any PIC microcontroller. It supports over 570 devices from the PIC10, PIC12, PIC16, PIC18, dsPIC30/33, PIC24 and PIC32 families.
It features a fast USB 2.0 interface, compact and stylish design, and MikroElektronika’s proprietary mikroICD hardware in-circuit debugger, which can be used to debug code from any of MikroElektronika’s PIC compilers.
The mikroProg can be used to power the target device in the voltage range of
1,8–5 V (up to 250 mA). The output voltage is adjustable with a slider in the ‘mikroProg Suite for PIC’ software. The programmer is designed to program devices using ICSP (in-circuit serial programming); however, an adapter is available for programming 8-bit DIP-package PICs.
The thorough user manual details connection diagrams and recommendations for the programming of all PIC families. A multiplexer inside the mikroProg simplifies the software development process for circuits where the PIC’s programming pins need to be used for general I/O as well as programming. The mikroProg is also included as an onboard feature in the EasyPIC7 development system.
