Texas Instruments introduced a highly accurate difference amplifier for high common-mode-voltage applications up to +275 V. The INA149 has a common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 100 dB and a minimum 90 dB CMRR performance in harsh, high-temperature environments up to 125°C.
A typical slew rate of 5 V/μs and bandwidth of 500 kHz suit applications where abrupt changes – such as short circuit conditions – are monitored and corrective actions need to be commanded quickly. Low maximum initial gain error of 0,02% provides high accuracy, especially in applications with lower common-mode voltage signals.
The INA149 can be used in a variety of high common-mode-voltage applications, such as high-voltage current sensing; battery cell voltage monitoring in photovoltaic, telecom, electric vehicles and alternative energy applications; power-supply current monitoring; and motor control.
