Unique directional antenna for ISM band

4 July 2001 News

Jasco group company, Webb Industries, has launched a unique directional antenna, the SiteLink SL24, which is particularly useful in remote areas where connectivity infrastructure is poor.

The SiteLink SL24, designed for the 2,4 GHz ISM frequency band, has a UV-stabilised ABS radome and is able to operate in temperatures from -40 to + 55°C. The swivel mount can vary elevation angles up to 20° from boresight.

According to Paul Richards, Director of Webb Industries, this antenna can substantially increase efficiencies and its unique design gives it an excellent price to performance ratio. "This product can save on cost as it obviates the need, in many circumstances, to invest in physical land lines," said Richards.

Pierre Nel, Pre-sales Consultant, Persetel QData Africa, says the trial of the antenna has been successful. "This is an excellent product. We have tried other antennas and have found this one to be the most suitable for our needs. Its special mounting brackets make it easy to control direction and it performs extremely well in the wind. Moreover its compact design makes it simple to install and, importantly, it provides more bandwidth than other antennas of its kind, making it extremely cost-efficient," said Nel.
