Legrand has launched a new range of metal cabinets that provides a reliable weatherproof sealed solution for distribution enclosures and for electronic control boxes.
The rigid Atlantic-E cabinets, with a high quality finish, ensure the safety, ordered arrangement and protection of electrical components like terminal blocks, switches and sockets, fuse carriers, safety transformers and circuit breakers. With an IP66 index protection rating to guard against dust and water ingress and a material strength of IK10, they are designed for installation in diverse industrial and commercial applications where there is no excessive corrosion stress. These environments include warehouses, shopping centres, hospitals, outdoor car parks and camp sites.
The cabinets, with a polyurethane weatherproof seal, are supplied ready for use, equipped with galvanised plain mounting plates, a cable entry plate, earth connection braid and mounting lugs to securely fix the cabinet onto a wall or roof, in a horizontal or vertical position. The removable plain plate provides maximum usable space and facilities easy attachment of equipment. This plate can be replaced by perforated plates or a ready to use chassis.
Atlantic-E cabinets can be equipped with cable glands or a Cabstop plate to optimise cable entry and reduce installation time. These cable entries, which consist of a cable clamp to provide the mechanical grip and elastomer areas, have an IP55 index protection rating for enhanced weatherproofing. Fire retardant materials enhance safety of the installation.
The modular chassis is complete with uprights, rails and faceplates. The cabinets are fitted with solid reversible doors, with metal hinges for enhanced strength. The doors, which are easily removable, open to 130° for easy access inside the cabinet. A double bar lock facility ensures secure closing and a totally weatherproof seal.
The cabinets are available in 27 different sizes, from 300 x 200 x 150 mm to 1200 x 800 x 300 mm. Accessories include plain and perforated plates, modular chassis, internal doors, locking devices and mounting accessories. The cabinets are also fitted with a lighting kit that includes an 8 W fluorescent tube (Ø16 mm, 230 V/50 Hz) a switch and connection on the terminal block.
