Variable gain amplifier

26 October 2011 Analogue, Mixed Signal, LSI

Avago Technologies has a new high-linearity variable gain amplifier (VGA) module for base transceiver station (BTS) applications. Operating in a broad frequency band from 1450 to 2750 MHz, the ALM-81224 addresses cellular BTS automatic gain control and temperature compensation circuitry applications. Available in a 6 x 6 x 1 mm package, the module offers low current consumption of 383 mA. Its input is fully matched to 50 Ω and output match can be tuned for optimal performance at a particular frequency band within the operation range. The VGA delivers high dynamic range of 38 dB under 0 to 3,3 V control voltage.
