Mean Well has added a 20 W model to its range of module type, single-output, regulated DC-DC converters. Measuring 2,5 x 5 cm, the SKA20 series meets the growing demands of miniaturisation and limited PCB space.
The efficiency of the converter is as high as 89,5%, allowing it to be operated at full load by free air convection cooling from -40°C to +75°C ambient temperature, and up to +85°C by derating the output load. With DIP packaging, the units use the industry standard pin assignment and feature a 2:1 input range, 1500 V d.c. input/output isolation, short circuit/overload/input and output over-voltage protection, low ripple noise, remote on/off control, remote sense, trimming output (5 V output: ±10%; 12 V/15 V output: 20/+10%) and CE/FCC compliance.
Fully encapsulated packaging enables the converters to withstand the influence of dust and moisture in harsh environments. Suitable applications include industrial control, telecoms and distributed power architecture.
