PoE injector and splitter

17 August 2011 Power Electronics / Power Management

Lantech has released a new Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) power source injector and splitter.

The POA-100B is a single-port injector for remote PoE PD devices communicating at 10/100 Mbps. The device delivers 48 V d.c. power to powered devices such as wireless AP routers, IP cameras, VoIP phones, etc, through standard UTP/STP Ethernet cable. It can source power over up to 100 metres with maximum power output of 30 W. The device complies with the IEEE 802.3at PoE standard and is backward compatible to IEEE802.3af.

The POS-100A splitter is compliant with IEEE 802.3af and its output voltages of 5 V, 9 V and 12 V mean that it can connect with most powered devices, including wireless APs, cameras and VOIP phones. The device has DC output jacks of 2,5 mm, 2,1 mm, 1,7 mm and 1,3 mm diameter.

A DIP switch allows users to change the output voltage and LEDs show the current setting.
