Nicomatic has developed an easy-to-use Web configurator for its CrimpFlex connectors, CMM micro-connectors and FFC jumper cables and card cables. Located at www.nicomatic.com, the tool functions as a part number builder, allowing users to follow a few simple steps to choose from a large number of options to create their own application connector solution.
The configurator makes incorrect configurations impossible. Filters are based on technical parameters – for example, the configurator filters termination technology, number of ways, pitch, right and left side, and conductor size. If, at the part number building stage, the user wants to change a previous choice (eg, cable length, termination), it is possible to step back very easily and change the configuration without restarting from scratch and losing information.
Once the part is built, the Nicomatic part number is generated and the user can then download the corresponding 2D or 3D drawing, request a sample etc. By way of an online mating configurator, the male and female connectors can also be configured as mating halves.
