32-bit MCUs

6 July 2011 DSP, Micros & Memory

Nuvoton announced the launch of the new 32-bit Cortex-M0 microcontroller NUC122 series with low power consumption and built-in USB Full Speed 2.0. The devices are aimed at consumer electronics, industrial control, security and communication systems.

The MCUs run at 60 MHz and support 32-bit multiplier, nested vector interrupt control structure (NVIC), dual-channel APB and peripheral direct memory access (PDMA). In addition, they boast Flash memory ranging from 32 to 64 KB, SRAM from 4 to 8 KB, high-performance communications peripherals such as UART, SPI, I²C, USB 2.0 device and a low-voltage reset function. Its timer functions include pulse-width modulation, capture and compare functions. Also integrated are four 32-bit timers, RTC, watchdog timer and internal RC oscillator.

The NuTiny-122-SDK development kit supports the NUC122 series to work with Keil RVMDK, IAR EWARM evaluation development environment, and CooCox (www.coocox.com/Nuvoton.htm) – a free and open development tool incorporating project manager, editor, compiler tools and debugger. Nuvoton also provides in-system program or in-circuit program functions by either on-line or off-line programming systems to update Flash memory program.
