General-purpose oscilloscopes

25 May 2011 Test & Measurement

The GDS-1000A series from GW Instek is a family of general-purpose, 2-channel oscilloscopes capable of meeting educational and industrial requirements without specialising in DSO features. The series provides three selective bandwidths of 60 MHz, 100 MHz and 150 MHz, together with a convenient human machine interface design plus a TFT colour LCD display.

The scope offers dual sampling mode, giving users two options for 1 GSps real-time sampling or 25 GSps high-speed equivalent sampling rate. Intended as a replacement for analog instruments, it has high-speed wave handling capability and a 2,5 kg lightweight design. Several acquisition modes and 27 auto measurement functions (such as arithmetic and FFT) help users to measure waveform properties accurately.

A total of 15 waveforms can be saved to the internal memory for later recall and display, and two saved reference waveforms plus two live waveforms can be displayed on-screen at the same time for comparison. The GDS-1000A incorporates a USB interface and SD card socket, which together enable remote control and data transfer to a desktop/laptop for documentation purposes and to enhance work efficiency.
