Lorlin has extended its range of key-operated miniature lock switches with new waterproof and impulsion type models.
The new WRL waterproof model is BSI tested for sealing to IP66 and IP67 with both SRL and WRL switch types offering single- or double-pole electrical contacts. The switches may be operated by a single common key or one of up to 200 different combinations. Applications for the waterproof WRL miniature key lock switch include vehicles, vending machines, torches, medical equipment, lasers, security shutters, alarm and security control panels in airports, prisons, police stations etc, factory equipment, instrumentation and electrical control panels.
Requiring just a 16 mm diameter panel hole, the SRL/WRL lock switches are easily mounted through the panel from the front, with the switch assembly projecting less than 30 mm from the rear of the mounting panel. An optional M16 earthing tag may be specified where panels require insulation. All SRL/WRL switches are RoHS compliant. Both 60° and 90° key indexing versions are available and the key may be inserted into the lock either way up and withdrawn when the switch is on or when the switch is off. The lock switches are rated for currents up to 5 A at 115 V a.c. non-switched and have an operating temperature range of -20°C to +65°C. The lock bezel may be specified finished in silver or black.
In addition to the new waterproof lock switches, Lorlin has expanded its SRL series with the addition of the IRL impulsion type. The IRL provides two switch positions, a maintained centre ‘neutral’ position and the ‘active’ position at 60° clockwise, with a spring return to the centre. The switch requires just a 16 mm panel piercing hole, projects less than 30 mm behind the mounting panel and is available with either single- or double-pole switching contacts. This new key lock switch configuration has applications in secure resetting of alarm and control systems, industrial and factory equipment, security gates and shutters, vending machines and many others.
In common with the existing WRL series, the new IRL impulsion switch is capable of withstanding a cable pull force of over 50 N to meet the vigorous environment found on vehicles and portable equipment. With switch contacts rated at 1 A, 24 V a.c./d.c. resistive load, the IRL has an operating temperature of -20°C to +65°C. The locks on the switch can have up to 200 different keys or be supplied with a common key. Front panel bezels are finished in bright silver as standard, and a matt black finish is available to order.
