Busbar system for low-voltage switchgear

With its 60 mm RiLine60 busbar system, Rittal offers a safe and flexible power distribution system for the construction of low-voltage switchgear.

Plant constructors can benefit from easy assembly, thanks to numerous detailed design improvements that have a beneficial effect on assembly handling. The integration of RiLine60 busbar systems and components in the Power Engineering 5.0 planning and configuration software aids an overall reduction in processing times.

The integrated step mechanisms for adapting to the flat bar cross-section may now be locked using pins. Plant engineers can easily insert flat copper bars retained in a holder from the front, or slide them in from the side. They also benefit from further improvements to assembly in relation to the cable entry of busbar connection adaptors. Simply knocking out hole perforations permits the simple, tool-free introduction of round conductors and laminated copper bars. The specially incorporated anti-slip guard also guarantees that the OM (One Move) component adapter holds securely in any position. Installation on 4-pole busbar systems is ensured by adjusting the adapter section.

Rittal supports plant engineers not only in terms of assembly, but also in relation to the planning and configuration of low-voltage switchgear assemblies. The company offers an extensive planning tool for RiLine60 busbar systems in the form of the new version (5.0) of the Power Engineering configuration application. The drag and drop functions allow a quick graphic configuration of the desired busbar system in Rittal TS 8 enclosures. Using export interfaces for parts lists in the common MS formats, as well as CAD data export in the DWG and DXF formats, means that fully coherent documentation can be compiled quickly, which is especially important during the quotation phase.

Thanks to the integrated database of switchgear from well-known equipment manufacturers and the freely selectable rated current input options, total power losses and space reserves on the busbar systems can be automatically calculated. This automatic documentation can, for example, be used to determine the appropriate climate control measures with the aid of Rittal’s Therm software.
