CamdenBoss has launched two new ranges of small plastic enclosures.
The 1100 series is a range of stylish ABS enclosures that offers six sizes and three configurations for a multipurpose solution to protect and house electronic equipment. It features modern design aesthetics accentuated by bevelled edges and two curved side walls. The base is moulded in ABS (light grey similar to RAL 7035) with three lid configurations comprising ABS (series 1101), high impact transparent polycarbonate with smoked effect (series 1102) and 1 mm silver anodised aluminium (series 1103). The lids are mounted by four M3 machine screws into brass inserts incorporated into the base and screws are hidden by included rubber plugs. Recesses in lid and base are designed to accept membrane keypads and overlays.
The enclosures’ internal volume is maximised by the absence of integral guides, with bosses moulded in the base to facilitate easy mounting of PCBs. Protection up to IP54 is offered by all enclosures in the 1100 series. Six sizes of each series are available ranging from 90 x 50 x 31 mm (lwh) up to 220 x 140 x 90 mm. Suitable for a broad range of electrical, electronic and instrumentation applications, the 1100 series enclosures can be provided pre-drilled with holes and vents to suit customer requirements.
Also new is the 30 series of small enclosures that offer robust construction, snap-fit screwless assembly and optional gasket sealing to IP65. The series is available in three ranges: Pock Box, Handy Case and Grip Case. Available in three sizes, 31 series Pock Box enclosures are small and robust handheld boxes in a contemporary and functional design with bevelled and rounded edges. Offering four medium-sized enclosures, 32 series Handy Cases are multipurpose handheld boxes suitable for a diverse range of technology applications and boast a unique ‘quick to assemble’ and functional snap-fit design.
With six larger sizes available, 33 series Grip Cases are based on a concept developed to meet the highest mechanical demands complemented by rubberised corners for extra protection and additional grip. The 32 and 33 series enclosures feature internal screw pillars for mounting PCBs in cover and base elements.
The new 30 series enclosures feature high impact ABS material offering temperature resistance up to 85°C and excellent properties for machining. Sealing is available on all 30 series enclosures with optional EDPM rubber gaskets that provide a high degree of protection against dust, dirt, humidity and ozone up to class IP65. Standard colours are grey (similar to RAL 7035) or black (similar to RAL 9004) for all 30 series enclosures with end caps in grey (RAL 7001) or black (RAL 9004) on 32 series and corner/side elements in grey (RAL 7001) on 33 series. Custom colours are available to special order.
Additional accessories include partially coloured 3-button and 6-button membrane keypads for the 31 series. There is also a key ring lug as standard on the smaller of the 31 series enclosures. Suitable for a wide range of applications from remote controllers to housing external hard drives and instrumentation, the new 30 series enclosures can also be provided pre-drilled with holes and vents to suit customer requirements.
