Samtec’s new Q Rate coax and twinax cable assemblies feature rugged, high-performance Edge Rate contacts and an integral metal power/ground plane which provide for enhanced electrical performance.
Q Rate coax cable (EQRD series) is a 50 single-ended #34 AWG micro coax ribbon cable system with a choice of 26, 52 or 78 contacts per row and a standard rugged friction lock; performance is 4 Gbps at 1 metre. Q Rate twinax cable (EQRP series) is a 100 Ω differential pair #30 AWG twinax ribbon cable system available in 18, 36 or 54 pairs; performance is almost 10 Gbps at 1 metre.
The 0,8 mm pitch cables mate with Samtec’s slim-body Q Rate socket and terminal strips (QRF8/QRM8 series). Mated heights of 11,5 mm or 14,45 mm and overall cable lengths from 95,3 mm to 1 m are standard. Optional screw downs as well as application specific sizes, cable lengths, terminations and wire gauges are also available.
