Cyan Technology’s GPRS gateway module provides a bridge between its Ethernet, serial and USB connections and Cyan’s Cy-Net mesh network. The board includes a GPRS module to allow customer connection through the GPRS network. Applications include utility metering and street and tunnel lighting.
Cy-Net offers a robust self-forming, self-healing mesh network. It runs RF hardware at the common frequency bands of 433 MHz, 470 MHz, 865 MHz, 915 MHz and 2,4 GHz. Cy-Net is able to do this by using its modular architecture, allowing different software drivers to be used with different RF transceiver parts.
The gateway supports the FAT file system and features an open source TCP/IP stack. It runs off a single 3,3 V supply and its two 2x20 pin connectors bring out many MCU pins for customer use. The module has a preprogrammed MAC address and serial number.
