The ABI System 8 Measurement Solution is a PC-based instrumentation package that provides all commonly required test instruments in one compact hardware module that is installed in a personal computer. Suited for repair, test, design or education, the measurement solution provides a frequency counter, DSO, function generator, variable PSU, voltage probes, capacitance meter, data logger and analog outputs.
The instruments in the measurement solution can be used individually, like conventional benchtop instrumentation, or they can be used simultaneously to provide a custom virtual test-bench. All instrument control settings, together with user prompts and screen layouts, can be saved in a test sequence which allows even an unskilled operator to perform measurements without worrying about controlling the instruments.
The module is the same size as a CD-ROM drive, so it can be installed in a PC to provide all the instruments required without occupying valuable bench space.
ABI has recently added a number of hardware and software features to the System 8. The new spec is especially suitable for education or applications where limiting operator control would be an advantage.
