The Mag45 Power over Ethernet (PoE) Plus PSE-ICM connector from Tyco Electronics has been developed as a high-power interface to meet both IEEE 802.3AF/AT and PoETec specifications. The interface design combines a RJ45 connector with integrated gigabit magnetics and an embedded PoE Plus controller board – allowing data and power to be transmitted over the same Ethernet cable via existing Cat5 infrastructures. This latest development utilises PoE technology to offer a high current capacity up to 600 mA per port.
Additional features include a surge-protected system with single-voltage feeding, low channel resistance and a compact, EMI-optimised and thermal design. The complete product line offers fully integrated, PoE Plus-enabled and standard 10/100/1000 solutions in compatible footprints. Targeted applications include switches/routers/hubs, wireless access points, network cameras, video/IP telephone, point-of-sale terminals and thin client computers. The product serves the network, server, industrial and consumer application markets.
