Mean Well has added a new 30 W unit – the PSD-30 series – to its DC/DC line and, in so doing, enlarged its product offering of low wattage DC/DC open frame switching power supplies. Complementing the existing PSD-05 (5 W), PSD-15 (15 W) and PSD-45 (45 W) series, the PSD-30 is suitable for economical installation inside a system enclosure. Its 101,6 x 50,8 mm footprint helps alleviate space problems and reduces the volume of the end system.
The PSD-30 exhibits up to 83% operation efficiency and can be used between
-20°C and 60°C ambient temperature using only free air convection. The units feature a 2:1 DC input range, 1500 V a.c. input/output isolation, built-in potentiometer for ±10% output voltage adjustment, CE certificates and protections for short circuit, overload, over-voltage and reverse polarity. Target applications are industrial control, telecom, voltage regulation and vehicle/ship/backup systems that use batteries as the power source.
